Film Production

Village Film Ltd. is an independent documentary / factual production company dedicated to making films about human rights, recent history, and social issues.

We are committed to making the sort of films we want to make, irrespective of the agendas of broadcast commissioning editors. We self-finance our own films, and work with associate directors on a similar basis. We target our films at film festivals specialising in our subject areas and distribute them via YouTube.

Our latest completion is QUEER FEAR - GAY LIFE, GAY DEATH IN IRAQ (2007, 9 mins.). This tells the story of the harassment and murder of gays and lesbians in Iraq by paramilitary forces linked to the democratically elected Iraqi government.

VOLUNTEERING

Village Film and can offer volunteer placements as researchers, camera operators, publicists and runners. We also offer opportunities to associate directors with suitable projects to produce and help make their own films. Enquiries about either of these schemes should be sent via the “Contact Us” link.
