Film Training

Village Film organises factual video training for:
- Charities and Community Groups
- Young People
This is practical, hands on training, filming in your organisation or on the streets, accompanied by experienced filmmakers. You learn to make a film by making a short film about yourselves. We provide all the equipment needed for the training. We use lightweight digital camera and sound kits which are easy to learn to use. We take you through all the stages of filmmaking.
- Project planning and development - the aim of the film, scripting
- Pre-production - preparing for the shoot, locations, interviews
- Production - camera, use of light, sound, interviewing
- Post-production - editing, use of music, effects
We can help you to fundraise to pay for training. We can also help you fundraise for video equipment for your use after the training.
A Charity or Community Group?
You end up with:
- staff who know how to use that camcorder in the cupboard and to edit all those tapes you have piling up.
- a short film about your organisation or about a subject which is important to you.
Young People?
You will:
- help make a short film with your name in the credits and you get a copy to keep. You will be able to see your film at a screening to which you can invite friends and family.
- work in a small group and experience the importance of team work.
- learn more about how to express yourself and develop the personal qualities this requires.
- gain insight into what is needed to go on to work in the film / TV industry.
- receive a certificate confirming you have completed the training.
